No it shouldn't cause a problem....I think that particular model just does that for some reason.

I asked the exact same question about my 6500 on the forum a while back and was told that it is sometimes the power supply that makes the noise. Only noticable on standby.

Sounds like the usual capacitor problems. You need to replace all capacitors as they leak or dry out with age. They are usually dark red or orange. There's quite a lot of them, you can get a capacitor kit from Dillen on the forum.

That was very interesting Mika!! Something I didn't know although I knew that B&O products are always jam packed with electronics compared to others that seemed virtually empty!
