  • Re: Recommended pre-amp/amp?

wonderfulelectric: I do recommend a Parasound which has the latest digital equalizer and do have a high quality video processor built in anyhow, this will balance out the in room sound and picture quite nicely. BTW with the Digital equalizer activated, you should restore the Beolab 5s to it's original sound settings because you don't want the

  • Re: How to transport Beolab 5 speakers?

These are the boxes stored in the Box Room:- 2 big ones are for a BL5 each 1 on the side fro the BV7-40 monitor 1 on the lop contains 2xBL3s, BL3 tall stands, BL7.2, BV7-40 stand base, BV7-40 stand upright, PC2, remotes and cables - all compartmentalised in foam. They've done UK, Europe, SE Asia and West Africa without a single scratch or dent to

  • Re: Beolab 5 prices?

UPS and Fedex are b*sta*rds like that. Charge you over the top rates for nil service and dont give you the choice. You need to talk to a good freight forwarder for a price. A container worth of goods will only cost $600-900 so a couple of easy inspectable boxes should be a fraction of that. Looking at singapore customes, I think they are only bothered

  • Re: What is BeoSound 5 needed for?

wonderfulelectric: Mr10Percent: petermc: I have Beolab 5 speakers. I don't currently use a computer for my music as I don't like the quality of the sound. If I can load all my CD's on the BS 5, turn the computer off, access all the albums easily and can't tell the difference between the CD and the BS 5 I'll be happy. Peter Cant find

  • Re: How to transport Beolab 5 speakers?

I travel extensively for long-term assignments for work. Where there is 220v, my B&O gear goes along with me. (BL5's, 3's, BV7-40 and BC2). I found that the boxes dont last too long if used more than a couple of times so I had flight cases made for all my gear:- The BL5 cases (shown), is a 4-sided box with a snap-on and lock 2-sided lid

  • Re: New Strategy for B&O

I wonder with the pending release of the Beosound 5 if there is going to be any alliances with the media producers like Linn Records and ECM? I wonder if they have considered selling pre-installed ultra-high quality media files (as opposed to going the Apple iTune route) and carve out their own niche? It may be considered very un-youth-like, but it

  • Re: Beolab 5 prices?

Maniax, I feel your pain. I bought my BL5's in Indonesia in 2004 via B&O Singapore. The price then was SGD26,000 and the SGD to the UK Pound was 3.2 to 1. It was a real bargain at GBP8200 per set. However, I'm adding to your pain! I suspect the cause is a) a flamboyant economy in Singapore and b) that the exchange rate is probably a reflection

  • Re: A bit confused Powerlink and Beolab 5

So what are the powerlink cables supplied with the Beolab 5's? These are very thick (x4 the cross-sectional area of "other PL cables) and have the ferrite caps on either end of the cable just before the terminations? 10%
