I never experienced problems of this sort. I have had a few burned midranges from the speakers being generally over powered and one or two where the coil had losened from the diaphragm (which is usually fixable) so I cannot help thinking that unless the tech guys are very unexperienced with speakers and measuring on crossover filters (doubt that) something

I have found a good used original woofer and I suggest you give that Beomaster a chance. You cannot buy anything new like it. It's probably a tiny thing. I've seen cases where the vertically mounted resistors on the volume board are actually touching eachother and that can cause the strangest fault, also intermittent ones. Never throw B&O

Start at the center. Let the spring ends float free and concentrate on the holders. Finally lift the spring ends into their grooves in the lid. If you need one of these, PM me. Martin

I don't have the Beo4 parts but the lamp is no problem. I also have the dial string but you can buy that on Ebay yourself. A Beolit 40 is not cheap. Not quite as sought after as the Beolit 39 but still in the upper part of the price range and the current bid would be a very nice bargain. Martin

Check the board mounted rectifier near the fuse and C92. Check the fuse holder for lose contact. Check the solder joints on the output stage transistors. Martin
