  • Re: Beogram 4000

Ray, I hope this isn't the BG 4000 you've just collected from Frede in Denmark. Cleve

  • Re: A generous B&O dealer

Stoobie, I remember the old dealer as well, and they certainly had a very idiosyncratic take on customer service! They shut at lunchtimes, kept the door locked all the time and would effectively vet potential customers before opening it. I took a BS 2500 in for repair and they wanted a deposit before they would agree to do it. Certainly the current

  • A generous B&O dealer

I know there are often criticisms of B&O dealers on this site so I thought I would report a very positive experience. I was walking past my local in Exeter on Saturday when I spotted some old B&O kit through the window, including an SM50 stand. I made a vague enquiry and walked off with it - as a gift! Apart from a couple of pairs of earphones

On switching the system on from the mains, there is very noticeable 'thump' from the 'speakers. Switching on any function in the system from stand-by doesn't generate any such noise. I've even tried leaving headphones attached

  • Transporting P45s by car

Sadly, despite numerous attempts to treat it, I still seem to be prone to a particular strain of the Beovirus that focuses on vintage Rosewood beovoxes (Beovoxitis?). I'm hoping to collect a pair of P45s from another member later this week, but I know from reading numerous threads on this site that the glue holding the magnets to the frame loosens

Hi again, Thanks for the additional information. Checking other posts on the subject of P45s, I notice an earlier one from you on problems with a pair of P45s, which I assume are the ones you are selling. I quote - "i bought a pair of P45 speakers on Ebay but unfortunetly one of them not working properly it plays only high freqency sound. i thought
