I'm considering getting a BeoMaster 5 without BeoSound 5, which will be operated via a number of link room TVs. Alternatively, I could purchase BeoMedia 1. I've been planning to get a BeoSound 5 and BeoMaster 5, though not for lossless audio through my BeoLab 5s - I can just as easily play the original vinyl or CDs through those. Nearly there now! I have a beautiful Beomaster 3400 from Lee and a rather lovely Beogram 6000 courtesy of Craig, so now all my dealer and I need to figure out is how to get them up and running. Thanks, Peter! I knew you'd have the answer. Actually, the 3400 isn't a bad looking beast in the flesh - hung on the wall, it will look rather impressive. This is a stunning example, too, with just one tiny little scratch. Now all I need is a BG6000-1. If anyone has any hot leads on a mintish example, please let me know!

Thanks to both of you - really useful input. A BG6000-1/BM3400 setup is certainly the way I'd like to go. Does anyone know for certain whether it is possible to play both CD4 and SQ albums in quad using this combination?

Out of interest, if I did get a Beogram 6000 feeding through a Beomaster 6000, or a Beogram 3400 feeding through a Beomaster 3400, how would the sound on stereo records compare to my Beogram 5500 feeding through a Beomaster 5500? Better? Worse? About the same?
