Thank you Simon! Should the degaussing take place also when the TV i switched of. I tought degaussing only was on when powering up the tube. The sound is static crackle and appears to be random like the sound you get when you have a comb through the hair on a cold and dry winters day.

I recently bought an avant 28 vcr originating from 1997. When the set is switched on and of there is a crackling sound from the back of the tube. When the TV is switched on the sound lasts for about 4 seconds and when it is switched of it lasts for about 8 seconds. The dealer says that it is not a hazard and that the TV can be used safely as it is.

My beovision LX2500 has for the past six months every now and then shut itself down to standby. It occur quite often, some days every five minutes or even more often and some days it runs for hours without trouble. I am a bit concerned about the safety of running the TV. I have seen some pretty nasty wounds on television PCB’s when something has

I have decided to find an external power supply, not the original, for my beolit 600 and want to check that I get the right specifications. The service manual states 7.5 Volt and 2 Watt for the external power supply. According to my less than perfect electronic skills this gives (2/7.5)=0.267 Ampere or 267 mA which should indicate that a power supply

Found a beocenter 1400 in nice condition and fully operational, the tape plays as you would expect from equipment of this age. I had only seen photos of these beocenters before and was never impressed but now I must say that it is a quite impressive unit. I think it was a bargain since I got it for 8 euro. However, regarding the cosmetic condition,

I was skeptic myself before using the steel wool. The brand was “svinto” which has soap on the wool which dissolves once it is dipped in some luke warm water and the resulting foam prevents scratches. On the box are pictures of different items like pots and pans, a stove and a plastic garden chair . Maybe it is intended for use on plastic

Update I have now consulted the pcg-software and apparntly I need the 1611 instead of the 1614. Am I right that the 1614 can be updated to a 1611 by changing the ic inside the unit. A new question. The pcg-software does not give masterlink and beolab 2000 as an option in a link room if beosystem 5500 is used as audio source in the main room If a beosystem

I cleaned a red beolit 600 some months ago and used different techniques. The radio had been used by a painter and was coverd by paint. I used washing-up detergent a dish brush and a tooth brush to get into the holes. I also used soap and steel wool and this did not leave any signs on the plastic. After some hours the plastic panels were like new. Try

Hi, I have added a beolink converter and a beolab 2000 to my setup but it does not work. Current setup Beosystem 5500 (beomaster 5500) connected to beovox s80.2, mcl to mcl 2a and cx50 in a linkroom. I sometimes connect a lx2500 to the aux datalink and can then control the tv from the linkroom. Today I connected a beolink converter 1614 s/w 1.0 and
