If you get your analogue service from one of the south midlands transmitters, then take a look at, http://www.digitaluk.co.uk/when_do_i_switch/central which implies that 2011 will be the changeover date to an all digital service, so you will need a digital box from that time onwards anyway.

If it is just the jack plug that has gone faulty, then for about £1 a replacement jack plug can be purchased and soldered onto the cable!! It usually means trimming about an inch from the end of the cable, but headphone leads are normally long enough to not notice the slight length reduction.

Prior to the 5000,5500,6000,7000 series of Beocords, B&O used the European equilization characteristic for their cassette recorders. This means putting on more HF lift during the record process in order to reduce the HF level on playback, thus giving a better signal to noise ratio overall. I personally think that the DVD2 is the better machine, as with it, it is possible to off load any archival material onto DVD for storage, freeing up hard disc space for later useage.

Masterlink is distributed arround in a Balanced Audio format, and if one "leg" of the channel is not connected, then the signal will be attenuated by 6db, as receiving end will pick up the earth connection but only one "leg" of the channel's audio signal. Try checking the connections for continuity to the right channel.

Hi, I have an MCL82 box complete with IR sensor unit and about 15 feet of loudspeaker cable attached and ending in 2 x 3pin LS plugs. The cable is covered in paint from a previous insrtallation but it should be possible to clean it up. PM me for more info. Ron

Give the receiver the signal it deserves, connect an outside VHF aerial and listen to the best quality radio reception available. Any indoor aerial will not do justice to the amazing quality available from this receiver!!!!!
