Got to agree with this...IMHO I have the Beogram 4000 and am hugely impressed with its build and sound ( in particular with the "old record on the platter" mod), and I also agree with the Thorens TD124 (Beogram 3000) comment, all this beauty needs is a decent plinth, the arm lets it all down here.. Somebody is kidding somebody here..we need to consider price per improvement(?) here..better to have the platter modified to be flat and keep everything else the same, my money is that the flat platter is the better upgrade, did similar with my Beogram 4000 ( only using an old 12" "stiff" record to do the job and tracking angle notwithstanding

Get it repaired, and keep it. I did and dont look back. I sold my Linn LP 12 to keep mine..one of the best kept B&O secrets of all time probably.
