This is a very interesting thread. I am having the same issues with my Beosystem 1 and Avant when I try to use 1080i feeds. I thought it was just problems with my DirecTV boxes, but apparently not. I had both of the boxes upgraded about a year ago to the latest chipset and CCDB.

I used to have an AV7000 and used Beolab 8000's for the front, and Beolab 6000's for the rear. I think 4000's would do just fine in the rear, since those channels are not working too hard, unless you use "Stereo 4" when listening to music.

In the US, we don't have scart cables. I only have the component video and optical audio. I will see if there is another open connection I can use instead of SAT and try that.

I plan to drop by the dealer today to ask. I have the AppleTV connected via component and optical for audio, and I chose SAT because the others are already taken. I would be surprised if the analog input made a difference becuase everything is going through a Zektor switch with optical audio connections, and I have no problem getting the sound from

It continues to play the TV sound. Then, when I press SAT on the Beo4 for the Passive, it goes silent.

I have my Apple TV hooked up to a BeoSystem 1 as SAT in our main room, but I can't get the passive to play the sound from SAT in my link room. It will play sound from other video (TV, DVD) and audio (RADIO, CD) sources, but not when I press SAT. Is it possible to hear sound from SAT in a link room (via Beolink Passive), or might I be missing something

Any idea if they have updated the BeoSystem 1 as well?

mecca: The ability of the AV 7000 is my biggest question. ie. does it have an amp for the center speaker? can i loop the center speaker outs (if preamp) back to my tv and use that speaker.?? can i make the 4 BO speakers work as surround when i like, THEN change it to just 4 speaker stereo?? Sorry for all the questions...i really need some help here

I wonder the pricing / availability is. My wife and are were looking at Q7's over the weekend, and we'll be in the market towards the end of the year. It was nice to see a BS9000 with BL8000's on display next to the A8 on the showroom floor as well.

Thanks, I'll try Option 5 on both and see how that works. The reason it is a little weird is that I wired up the Beolink Passive for Masterlink, then added the Avant later. I already had Masterlink cable running back to a central distribution box, so it was easier to connect everything through ML than to try and fish new Powerlink cables to connect
