Video master is BV8-40 and audio is BC9500. Certainly my LX5500 link TV performed in exactly the same way as your Avant. There must be some issue with my Avant and/or Beolink converter.

Thanks for the suggestion. Unforunately Link-AV has the same effect as AV. Could it be the option setting? Option 6 is shown in the PCG for the Avant and everything (other than stereo sound from video sources) works fine.

I am using a type 8453 Avant 32 DVD in a link room. The TV switches off the screen and returns to stand position 0 when an audio source is selected. Is there a way to stop it doing this and continue watching TV with (for e.g) radio through the speakers as is the case with the LX5500? I am also unable to get stereo sound (via the BC9500) from video sources

Works perfectly. The Avant does not show up as a link TV option using MCL in the PCG, but this proves it is possible to go from ML to MCL and use an ML product in a link room (using two 1611 converters).

This would be a big task to rewire with ML. I know what you're saying about the sound being amplified etc with MCL but The LX works well in the setup and the sound quality is excellent from video and audio sources. To simply put in another 1611 is much easier. I've already bought one now so hope it works! Thanks for your reply!

Replacing an LX5500 with an Avant 32 DVD as a link room TV. Is the 1611 converter the correct piece of kit to go from the MCL2AV box to the Avant? Master is a BV8-40. I am also using a 1611 between this and a BC9500 and all works fine. Just checking it will work in the other direction (MCL to ML). David

I can't get the BV8-40 to default to format 1 at all, even with two sources connected without scart! Format>go still goes to 3. Can anyone confirm that this is the case with BV7 and BV10? The 8-40 has two HDMI's and I have the sytem module so plenty of connections. All that's missing is an additional Svideo input at the camera sockets

How does the Foxtel manage to do this? Is yours a 32 or 40? Mine is a 40 with the latest software. Would a software modification would allow storing of formats for AV1-AV6 or at least for the main sources (TV V.MEM DVD DTV)? I have PC through s video (4:3) analogue TV (14:9) Zune player (4:3) and sometimes use a V8000/DVD1 play 4:3 material. The BV8

Four out of five sources I have connected to this TV require presentation in Format 1 yet in each case the TV for some reason always initially shows them in format 3. Why? I want to make it start at format 1 unless there is WSS from the broadcaster. I also need to be able to STORE the settings. I have so far found no way to do this so at every source

Thanks Peter and Chris. Yes with some cleaning and general TLC it looks good and plays very well. I have a 2402 with a 20EN and the sound is much brighter from the 6002. The double sided tape has indeed rotted so need to fix that. The seller sent it without securing the transport screws or protecting the stylus so it has undergone a through build quality
