Not sure if Goo Gone is available in your area. It will remove sticky tape residue as well as residue that has dried. It's a natural citrus-based solvent, so I wouldn't think it would harm the finish.

The drawer operates via pulley and rubber belt. Odds are you need a new belt. Contact member Dillen (Martin) via PM and he can provide one. He'll also include written instructions on how to install it - it's not difficult.

The two systems are totally incompatible (one is 1-line; the other is 2-line) - the 6000 will only work with its triangular base station/charger (at least here in the states). Hmm - if you push in that button for several seconds and the red light doesn't flash, yes, that's a problem. Another way to put the base unit into registration mode is

Firstly, Beocom 6000 and Beocom 1 are not compatible with each other. To put your base unit into registration mode you must press that button on it and keep it pressed until the light in front flashes. Then it's ready. And you might need to do a reset on the handset in order to re-register it. To do this press 'dot' followed by 70009, then

Offhand I'd say it's because it's 'seeing' something in front that is triggering the doors to open. Have you tried moving it to a different, less cluttered location? Perhaps the glass is dirty - remove the panes and clean them. If you press the red dot on a Beo4 remote, this should close the doors. Does it?
