Hi Just a quick enquiry re. connecting Beolab 3000 wall-panel speakers. I have recently revised my setup of Beosound 9000 connected to Beolab 3000 speakers. Unfortunately where I now have the player and speakers located one of the powerlink cables is no longer the right length to connect. My question : is the purpose of the two powerlink sockets on

Hi Archie Glad to hear that the cleaning did the trick, one question - how do you get to the laser to clean it with a cotton bud? I used an IXOS cleaning CD (which I discovered afterwards is not recommended, but it did the trick without damaging the unit). Thanks. Dom

Depending on how old your machine is my first suggestion would be dust buildup (see the other thread refering to BS 9000 playing problems). My machine was refusing to play and kept going to "Pause", but is now ok following a through cleaning (not all as recommended !) Dom

Oops! You're quite right, manual does say cleaning CDs not recommended. However two thoughts occur, first IXOS couldn't market a product that wrecked CD players, and second maybe B & O just want to make sure they get all the service work, even if that is just wiping off some dust. Dom

The IXOS cleaning CD is shaped like an ordinary CD except that it has 6 tiny clumps of cleaning fibres 3/4 of the way in to the centre of the disc, evenly spaced around the centre. Instructions are to operate the the machine to be cleaned on "play" for 15 seconds then remove the cleaning disc, touching the metal centre area as you do (to disperse

Thanks to everyone for their comments but beodude is right, it was dust buildup - bought an "IXOS DVD/CD Lens Cleaner" this pm and ran it in the Beosound 9000 for 30 seconds and now (fingers crossed) it is playing all CD positions A Ok, [cheapest repair I could wish for]. I did vacuum the face of the player with a [special] soft brush a couple

I spoke too soon saying that cleaning it had cured the problem - now it hesitating and going to "pause" on several CD positions :-( I can only think that some component (the laser?) is failing and not reading the disc. Have I read somewhere that early CD mechanisms were not reliable and now they are being replaced with a "mark 3"

Hi there I was unaware of the Beosystem 3 until I saw it mentioned on this thread - have looked it up on the B & O website and am still a bit unsure what it is, a glorified junction box for all components plus switching ability via cable [only]? Cannot find a price for it but I guess it costs a bit more than an LC2? Can you use non- B & O components
-
Just a basic Q regarding the LC2 - why has B & O not come up with a replacement for it? I think it is a very useful piece of equipement (bought the last one in stock at B & O Chester and have just got a second off e-Bay[ where they sell like hot cakes] for what was the retail price from B & O). If they don't replace it then the "Light"
