Would agree that 4000's sound very good (by a long way). $2990 seems expensive. Be patient and wait for a good condition pair to come up on ebay for £600 - £700 ($1200 max). If you're prepared to accept minor cosmetic flaws then you can get them for less..... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bang-Olufsen-BeoLab-4000-Active-Loudspeakers

Not cheap, but if Martin has personally sorted the surrounds and caps and the cabinets and frets are in good condition, then I would say the price is fair.... Cheers Nigel

Minus 1 feedback says it all! Cheers Nigel

Yes Leslie! If I was selling it I would have been hoping for at least £600. Having said that, the seller should have been more descriptive (and included close up photos) about the "wear and tear marks"....it's a very subjective phrase that covers a multitude of sins! Cheers Nigel

Wow! Impressive is not the word!! Looks fantastic! Cheers Nigel

That looks like a real labour of love! Must have taken you many hours....but.... the results are fantastic! Cheers Nigel

I would be astonished if the power output between the different models wasn't the same - I assume you've seen the 3W figure from the product section on this site. I think it's either a typo or confusion between continuous and peak power... certainly Beocentral say they were all 1W. Cheers Nigel

Many thanks to both of you Hmmm... you both express caution and an amount of difficulty / risk... I think I might try and persuade my local dealer to undo the frets for me...we shall see... Thanks again Nigel

Many thanks Graham Er... how do you remove the fret! Cheers Nigel

Can anyone tell me how to remove the top circular plate/disc from the top of a BL 8000? Cheers Nigel
