• Re: Advice on MacMini, BV7, Masterlink integration

    Thanks again Stefan
No. It just tells us we need a HDCP supporting display (=BV7). And protected material will NOT be converted to analog video, which means picture on your BV7 but no picture in linkrooms when using HDCP. But usually there is no HDCP in MKV and avi....so should be no problem.
Good news [quote

Thank you both. As you can imagine Stefan, not what I wanted to hear but very useful information. I am still keen to pursue the MacMini as I like the integration and user interface that Linkplayer-Plex offers, however I will definitely not be purchasing one 'til I hear that someone has managed to get the simultaneous digital & analogue signals

Thanks for your thoughts Elephant. I am currently using a RF amplifier coming out of my BV3 with no problems. I can't quite recall its connections and is in the roof space so difficult to check easily. Glad to hear you are pleased with the Hybrid - my only worry about it is that it is only a single tuner (and hence wondering about the Diversity

Thanks Phil, I'd forgotten, stupidly, that the beoport would need to be connected to the computer running Linkplayer - will need to look into possibility of hanging it off the back of the BV7! Dylan

  • Advice on MacMini, BV7, Masterlink integration

Hi, Grateful for advice on following - am shortly to get a BV7 Mk3 which I would like to add a Mac Mini as a media server. Plan to distribute to link rooms via masterlink. For reasons of aesthetics and probably noise I would like to have file storage away from the BV7 and ideally not to have my other iMac on all the time. Below are my thoughts. My questions

  • Re: connect macbook mini dvi to Beovision 5

Hi, I'm no expert (not having either a BV5 or a Macmini ) but have been looking at getting a macmini to connect to a soon to arrive BV7. Seems there are issues with the age of the macmini you have - pre 2009 a DVI-VGA adapter seems to work fine (combined with a coaxial for the audio) post 2009 I think you might have to get a mini-displayport to

  • Panasonic DMR-E55 DMR-EX77 template

Happy to report that the template in the resource centre for the Panasonic DMR-EX77 works for the DMR-E55 DVD-HDD machine. However, I've only been able to test on DVD playback functions as brought the machine over from the UK and tuners/recording functions don't work in Australia. So thanks to the uploader

  • Re: Soundproof's Guide for using iPhone or iPod Touch as a remote!

Not a dumb question to me - I've never been able to get it to work on my BV3-BS3200-Beoport system. Have had to resort to setting Beoport to "mix" the PC sounds with the NMusic/NRadio sound. Then select Nmusic (or NRadio) from the Beo4/Beo5, then hit stop - this turns off the NMusic but leaves the itunes playing. Works like a dream - or
