I have to confess that I really don't mind what other people have and certainly would not judge them on their purchases. I don't want a huge TV simply because I don't watch that much. A BV5 is quite huge enough and suits the size of my room. The BV10 I did have was in some ways better as the picture was marginally better but the sound was

My MS150s suffered from this - it made them sound as if the bass units had blown. A quick clean by Tim and a bit of music and they were singing once more!

Excellent system if a trifle on the large side. The normal faults are down to the dreaded red capacitors and disintegrating variable resistors and Martin does a good kit for this. I would however have thought that this would have been done by now - mine was fixed about 10 years ago! The CDX is definitely the one to go for though a CDX2 is an interesting

I think this is a very worthy project but from past experience, I doubt you will get 100 orders let alone 1000. The 4000 series of decks are becoming less common and those that do exist are usually fairly cossetted. Fascinating - I should really do mine sometime! I am not convinced that the bass units in mine are original though - smaller dust caps.

Very happy with my Avant and indeed my BV5. Picture is fine to my eyes on both and the sound brilliant. Not planning to change any time soon!

It is very difficult for moderators to deal with behaviour like this. I think most of us expect all members here to be honest and generous in their dealings with each other. Unfortunately there a few who do not and take massive advantage - I know that I have certainly been done a few times. We do try to deal with such matters behind the scenes but sometimes

You mix the two together and apply either with a cloth or fine wire wool. Obviously take the top off first!! Work along the grain and it gets rid of all the dirt quickly.

Nice looking 5000 - I like the rosewood ones as well. To get the tuner marks off, clean the rosewood - I use linseed oil and white spirit - and then use beeswax to get the beautiful colour back. Definitely get the tuner - best radio I have! The amplifier is quite lively in my experience - it has what sounds like a treble lift though the figures would
