I have a Beogram 3300 with a MMC2 cartridge, and I'm using the TC770LC from phonopreamps.com. I wrote a brief note about it under the Beogram part of the forum. I've no experiencew with your table, don't know what cartridge you're using, but the B&Os tend to have low output. I have been very satisfied with the TC770LC, it let me

Wondering about failure modes for these. I have two of these that used to work, now they don't seem to work at all. I had them plugged into one of the Powerlink plugs on both my AV7000 to control an amp for the rear channels, and on my Beosound 9000 to turn on the amp that drives the rest of the house speakers. Neither seem to work, if you turn

Don't think Starbow was Asimov, though I can't remember enough to be sure. Didn't have the feel of his writing. I too loved Foundation, but it's obvious Asimov wrote it before the mathematical work in chaotic systems (aka chaos theory). The last Colossus book was interesting, they overthrew and destroyed Colossus, and it's final

I've read both of those, great books. I particularly enjoyed When Harley Was One, also enjoyed the Colossus books. I remember a story, I think it was The Light At Starbows End or something like that, where they evolved these people into supermen. The line was, be very careful if you set out to creat a superman. Superman may not view the world, or

Equally high wouid be 2001. And there we have the two extremes - Distopia and Hope (or perhaps Ambition). [/quote] Sorry to take so long to get back

This may be discussed elsewhere, but couldn't find it, so I'm posting this anyway. I have a Beogram 3300, the wedge shaped turntable, connected to a Beosound 9000. There was always enough level difference it was annoying, plus having to use an old integrated amp for its phono preamp. Anyway, I got one of these: http://www.phonopreamps.com/TC

Re Sherlock Holmes, it was pretty good, I always enjoy Robert Downey Jr. My favorite Holmes is the one done by Jeremy Brett for the British TV, he is IMO the ultimate Holmes. For Robert Downey Jr films, my favorite is Restoration, an amazingly good film about a young, silly, weak doctor who eventually grows up into a responsible man during the plague

Sweet! Very nice looking, the grill cloth looks great with the metal cabinets.

It doesn't "soak up the bass" it improves it. In a sealed enclosure the fiber fill acts to reduce the speed of sound in the cabinet, making the driver think the cabinet is larger than it actually is. It's used to tune system Qtc to extend LF response and improve damping. Removing it will increase system Qtc, which means a higher LF
