Hi Pete Tape deck issues will usually be: No tape playback - broken belts, see member Dillen (named Martin) for replacement belt kit. No fast forward but okay rewind and playback - this means the jockey wheel which controls fast forward has sized, it needs relubricating. Steve, If you open up the Beocenter you will see a ground wire running to the middle screw at the bottom of the cassette assembly (nearest the front of the unit). Unscrew the screw and clean the wire contact, I would suggest that you run the wire underneath the metal tape deck assembly rather than sitting it on top and relying on the screw to form the

I believe the optimum quad setup was the Beomaster 6000 amp matched to the quad Beogram 4x turntable. I dont believe you would easily find a quad pre-amp as a new item these days, you might need to consider two pre-amps for each pair of signals. Andrew

oh okay, I was under the impression the remote of the BM 2400-2 would start the record playing when the Phono input was selected... I must be getting my receivers mixed up... Thanks for the help Peter :)

Hi everyone looking at buying a BM1900 off ebay. Seller claims all is working fine except one light for the balance slider which doesnt appear a big issue. My question is, does this unit support datalink? ie with the correct turntable will the BM start turntable playback when the phono input is selected? I believe the BM2400 will do this and I also

Hi Toost, I have a Beocenter 5000, I found it extremely useful to join this site and download the service and instruction manuals, they include the information on how to use/service minor repairs on this unit. I believe the speed control settings are located under the turntable platter, there should be a seperate one for each speed. Andrew

page 4 of the service manual, its called a "Silent Switch". The term open used in the manual means the switches are not pushed together. There should be sufficient detail in the service manual for you to investigate yourself.
