No fast forward but okay rewind and playback - this means the jockey wheel which controls fast forward has sized, it needs relubricating. Steve, If you open up the Beocenter you will see a ground wire running to the middle screw at the bottom of the cassette assembly (nearest the front of the unit). I believe the optimum quad setup was the Beomaster 6000 amp matched to the quad Beogram 4x turntable. I dont believe you would easily find a quad pre-amp as a new item these days, you might need to consider two pre-amps for each pair of signals. Andrew

Hi Toost, I have a Beocenter 5000, I found it extremely useful to join this site and download the service and instruction manuals, they include the information on how to use/service minor repairs on this unit. I believe the speed control settings are located under the turntable platter, there should be a seperate one for each speed. Andrew
