The beosound 9000 is the only B&O cd player that has a digital output which will compromise feeding a digital signal to the bl5

I have been informed that the beolab 5 can be unreliable and often need repair they are potentially more complicated than conventional design. i do like the active speaker principle no need for expensive amps more efficient etc meridian have a great name in cd/dvd players dont know there speakers also a home cinema system from meridian would be massive

Well, Wonderful electric, that's a highly personal opinion you have there. I would never invest in a pure HD transport option. I dont really understand the practical workings of hd transport they look very complicated i want something that is reasonably priced and can interface with a cd player without using a computer.

That is a question i have always wanted to ask about best source for bl5 surely there are much better specified cd players than b+o the pathos looks much better than any other cd player i have seen pity it didnt work as well

I did not realise the BV 9 was £17500 l have seen it quoted as £14500 trying to pass off a 2 year old as new is appalling it seems the dealer could not even set it up properly hopefully all these issues can be resolved quickly it seems people on this forum have lots of experience in dealing with b+o problems i agree sky is just a hyped up

  • Re: B & O starting to fall behind?

There are products like quad electrostats that have been in production for 40 years and linn hifi and naim have produced amazing quality with little modification over the years. most hifi products date and a lot of older b+o products are no longer of much value. b+o need to intergate seamlessley with 3rd party products adding far more hdmi leads etc

  • Re: Sharp LED-LCD better than B&O-plasma ?

Pioneer blowing everyone else away nice to see they earned it why are there so few reviews of b+o video products in last few years , there was a lot back in 2005 when bv7 arrived
