• Re: Poor Sound Quality from S120.2 Speakers!!!

Just a thought, wouldn't the overload protection relay distort the sound if the contacts were oxidating? (not probable I think, since they never move normally, but...).

I think it was the teletext board that is "married" with the software version, so you would need that and the SW3.1 eprom chip. But I've never done this either way myself, so I really don't wish to start giving instructions that can potentially ruin your set! Check the software of your MX6000 first, though (it should be marked on the

There was a long thread about doing the opposite (i.e downgrading the software from 3.1 to 1.x to gain better operationality with a Beolink 7000 including two-way remote control) and I believe the end result was that it is too much work to be practical - some of the hardware will have to be changed too. I'd just get a Beolink 1000. And the picture

  • Re: Beogram failing to "see" records

Don't blindly trust the markings on the PCBs, they are sometimes incorrect. But, unfortunately the PCB in your picture doesn't match either version in my 4002/6000 service manual. You probably have an older/newer version that isn't covered there, so I better let someone else take over with the specifics. There are anyway some diodes in the

D17? Are you sure? It's just a regular 1N4148 in my schematics. The only 15 volt zener I can find is 1D10, and it's job is to regulate the voltage to the detector lamp. Can't be that critical (although I would replace it with something lower if you can't find the exact value, like 13.8V). Anyway, a failed D17 makes a lot more sense for

If you don't have any analogue tv transmissions left (as here in Finland) and thus watch all your channels through a box, Decoder is actually a very convenient choice: Remove all but one tuned channels, say preset 1, from the MX; no matter which frequency you tune it to, even no transmission is OK (and actually better, but I'm digressing already
The S120’s have a booming bass, that is at BEST muddy and the upper range is WAY WAY WAY too crisp for my taste.
I had a pair of S80.2's that sounded a bit like that. Turned out that somebody had "fixed" foam rot by throwing away the original woofers and replacing them with something else (and

  • Re: Another old lady saved from the skip.

Excellent! I've been thinking that if I ever get another radio with this form factor, this model might be it.
Only thing is they're a little bit grubby in places - is there any way of giving them a light clean without damaging them?
If you can't get them presentable without using any detergent/water, check out what I did to my RL6000's a little while ago: http://forum.beoworld.org/forums/t/24303.aspx I believe
Did the fabric in the middle interfere with image quality by any chance though?
That's the latest fad in contrast screens!
