The only remotes able to work that are the MCP5000 and Terminal 5000 ( not Beolink 5000!). MCP5000's are commonly on sale, so keep on watching and you'll eventually find one.

Welcome to the forum, Lee. You apparently have a very nice wife The Beolink 1000 and Beo4 send mostly the same codes, so you can use either one for day-to-day operation with no problems (volume, channel, source select, CD track, etc). Some functions may be a bit more awkward with BL1000, requiring you to press shift+something, not clearly marked on
