  • Re: '10k' DRAW - THE PRIZEWINNERS !!!

Whoa! 3/50 to Finland! That's about <divide by zero, crash and burn> times better than regular prize draws ever! Congratulations to winners and thanks to others

  • Re: Pictures of Jet 511 radio restoration

Thanks! The radio seems to be in really good shape from the front, you'll have a great conversation piece when you're finished!

  • Re: Beogram 4000 care

Just to add a little hint - for the two big 4000uF/50V caps, it is a bit difficult to find replacements that will physically fit without modifying the bracket or leaving it out altogether. For my BG6000, I managed to find 4700uF/63V axial electrolytics with physical size 25 x 50 mm, and they fit perfectly (the old ones are also 25mm in diameter) - I

  • Re: Beolit 600

If you run out, Chris, I think I have more than 20 meters of real good quality dial cord which even looks just like the original If anybody needs it, I'm willing to send out some at cost + postage (it isn't that expensive per meter, but really hard to find nowadays and I can only get it in full spools - therefore I won't start a charity

  • Re: Beosound 5 - Is it worth the effort (NOW)?

There's no need for a built-in CD drive with B&O markup and all the hassle of keeping the black box accessible, yet out of sight. A 50 EUR external USB CD/DVD drive can do all that, at a cable length of your choice. (with no help from the current software, though - but there are no technical reasons why this solution would be any less capable

  • Re: 103-inch BeoVision 4 introduced - with cool video

As I said in another thread, I don't believe it took that much effort anyway. Most of it is the same as in smaller TVs - the panel was made by somebody else anyway, maybe the power supply as well - and the rest is relatively simple mechanics, just in a large scale. And the real value of the product is not how much it sells, but the PR value which

  • Re: MX4002 picture quality

Clean under the contrast screen If it has been used a lot, the tube may have lost some of its brilliance. Just crank the values a bit higher if you like it better that way, they are just numbers at this point. And if you're comparing to some other TV set, remember that B&O's with a contrast screen usually appear darker - they don't need

  • Re: MX7000 and AV sources... I'm confused...

No, the MX won't display Y/Cr/Cb. You will need an adapter with four picture signals - composite, R, G and B. And even then the switching voltage (SCART pin 16) problem remains, and you will probably end up with the MX displaying just the composite signal instead of RGB. If getting a DVD player with a SCART output is not an option, I'm beginning

  • Re: MX7000 and AV sources... I'm confused...

I dunno - I haven't seen an 8000 in the flesh and never had a look in the schematic, either. The RGB support in earlier MX/LX's is pretty much the same than any brand of TV regarding what and how you can connect to them, so that's not a particular problem. Maybe even better since all SCARTs can accept RGB. The sad part is that B&O originally

  • Re: MX7000 and AV sources... I'm confused...

Is the output from the DVD RGB or component (Y/Cr/Cb)? RGB isn't "self contained" as it doesn't carry the sync signal. You will also have to somehow connect the composite video signal from the DVD to the SCART (it doubles as the sync for RGB). Either way, the MX will not understand component, so you'll have to configure the DVD
