  • Re: Pickup-arm Beogram 7000

Interesting! It looks as though the arm is not moving across as quickly as it should - hence the moving back to the straight ahead. I am not that technical but the arm moves I believe due to the action of a light sensitive cell at the arm base and I imagine this requires an adjustment. In normal use, the arm will go back a couple of grooves on the record

Very nice = I always fancied one of those but by the time I was in the market, I didn't have the time! I now buy that sort of thing for my godson instead! However my grandfather and I used to sail non remote control boats on a large lake when I was small. This involved quite a bit of walking and sometimes a bit of wading but we enjoyed it. These

  • Re: Turntable shelf

If it is Steve, then I too would recommend him. Helpful and friendly - though I'll not get into a debate about directional cables! This is the link . Another site - even more expensive than the shelf I have but very good looking is this one . I could see this being something for more than just turntables.

  • Re: Turntable shelf

The B&O shelf is simply and L shaped piece of heavy metal and is designed specifically for the Beogram 5000/5005 sized deck. For your 1000, it is sensible to use a wall shelf as it is sensitive to vibration. I have a shelf similar to one of these for my 4000 which offers good isolation without being too intrusive. However these are all very expensive

Is it from the sign outside the shops? I did have one but it went to Bellac and I think Steve sold it - with my permission. I don't suppose you bought it!

  • The gods conspire..

Supposed to be picking up a van to go to get my B&O systems from Eastbourne today as well as taking equipment to be repaired. Instead, will be walking the dog in the snow. I think travelling in the worst weather for 18 years would seem idiotic so am delaying - hopefully by only a week!

  • Re: Switching all Beolink products on

The only way to turn everything on is by use of a timer and with all rooms set to timer on. That would turn everything on at the same time.

  • Re: Beocenter 3300-a problem with turntable.

Agree that the cartridge is the most likely culprit but check that the arm moves freely - do this by turning it on with an old record on and once the arm drops, turn the power off at the mains plug. The arm should move completely freely. Also check that you have the tracking weight set properly - it should be 1.5g - or even a little more. By the way

  • Re: Beosystem 2400-2

Nice system - I am picking mine up on Tuesday! Not much value these days and let's face it, it is not very space efficient! However hopefully some enthusiast will make you an offer. The usual speakers are S45-2s - which are excellent.
