  • Re: White LX5500 in Consett

PM me about how I am going to get it. The weather may of course put pay to the whole venture so pray the snow has gone by Monday. I dare say Tim will bear the loss !

  • Re: New member and B&O customer

Welcome to Beoworld. I agree with a lot of what you say - the Beolab 4 is a joke, the distribution of video via RF is stone age and I wouldn't listen to Beolab 5s either as they simply outclass the rest of the range by a county mile. I would take issue with the Beo4 which is a very intuitive remote - once you get past the LIST system. I also think

  • Re: Best Beo5 programer in London

The best Beo5 programmer in the world is Keith!! Not sure he does commissions but you could ask! If it is just B&O equipment, your dealer now has templates to set it up to your liking. If non B&O as well, then things may be trickier.

  • Re: Question re: Beomaster 5000 and 5500

You will be using more power certainly so I would switch to stand by if only for that reason. I doubt it will have much effect on longevity unless the Beomasters are drifting out of spec. If either runs particularly hot, it would be worth getting it serviced.

  • Re: Old vinyl onto a new mac

I use Toast and CD Doctor which will remove clicks etc - though I don't! It will auto define tracks etc. Quite good at doing it as well!

  • Re: B&O Penta owners will want to bookmark this!

In the afore mentioned speaker test which snoopy and I did, the best speakers on test were the M100s. The control over the bass eclipsed the Penta 3s - more detail and more control. MS150s do much the same though I don't like the top end sound quite so much. You do need a decent amplifier though - BM4400, 6000 or 8000 spring to mind.

The BC2 has a digital out as well. Pretty sure the BM5 will as well.

I could be in a position to help here! I am planning, weather permitting, to come down on Monday - in a van! And I am going to Farnborough!! Let me know. I may have a problem with when I can pick it up but I dare say we can come to some arrangement!

  • Re: New here....

I have a BC2 and it is very good. However I still hanker after a Beosound 9000 as I would probably get a Blu-ray player these days and the BC2 is not going to be upgraded. The disadvantage of CDs is that one has to manually enter the information into the BC2 - iTunes collects the information automatically. Store your music at a high bit rate or using

  • Re: Samsung F400

If you want to raise eyebrows, get the Vertu. The Serenata , which is to be discontinued will also impress others - but in common with the Serene, I certainly do not find it that impressive to use. I think B&O have made a wise decision to leave this market alone.
