Hi Marc, B&O stores are usually reluctant to sell spare parts to customers, so they will often direct you to an approved service centre (I can recommend Simon at AVA Services if you are in the London area). The actual RCA socket is not too tricky to re-connect if you have the service manual and good soldering skills. These are interchangeable with

Hi Jocke08, You didn't say if this was a B&O TV? If it is, you can use either Masterlink (long connector with many pins) or Audio Aux Link (round socket with 7 pins) if these are also present on your TV. To connect a non-B&O TV, you need an RCA or SCART to DIN cable. You can obtain these cables from Lee at LifeStyle AV, or go to the web

Thanks macsat, I was worried for a moment! I'm working on a solution for Cat-7e cables to fit the RJ-45 sockets at the moment - would be annoyed if they were no longer on the BS5! Steve.

Hi bayerische, I think you may have mark 1 cables there? Unfortunately, it can be very hard to tell which ones you have as they are all fully pinned and between 2mm and 4mm thick. Look for triangles marked on the plugs to show original B&O mark 3 cables. Otherwise, there is no sure way to tell without a multimeter. However, the fact that you said

Hi macsat, Are you certain about it having a Masterlink connection? My sources tell me that BS5 will use a new modified Cat-7e networking solution. This will look the same as the network ports on the back of most PCs. Best regards, Steve.

Hi, I suspect that the Powerlink cables supplied with your system are probably mark 1, without the voltage reference wire fitted. This would explain the humming noise and other unwanted interference. I would strongly recommend that you replace these with the correct cables, it is a very small cost compared to the value of the speakers. Contact Lee at

Calvin, I've put together a pre-amp kit that might be useful if you want to connect an older Beogram into a new BeoSound system. The RIAA amps themselves are eay to find, it's just the cables and adapters that are usually a problem to source, hence the reason for the kit with everything included, ready to use. Lee at LifeStyle AV has these in

Hi, There are various "spiral wrap" cable tidy products available, as sold for tidying computer cables in offices. These are fairly cheap (ie. a few pounds for 5m in the UK). Although it is not usually possible within equipment stands, it pays to try to separate audio and mains cables away from each other to prevent interference (in the form

Hi Stars, Your Masterlink questions seem to have been covered, so that just leaves Powerlink! As mentioned previously, one Powerlink cable contains both left and right channels, meaning that you often only need to run one Powerlink cable to another room/listening location, hence there is usually no need for cable tidies or ties. Just run the cable to

Yes, Lee is right - these are mark 2 cables! Otherwise known as 8 core, 8/8 or "fully wired" (even though pin 8 is not used by Beolab 5?), these are the thickest Powerlink version. B&O have started using a thicker version with ferrite coils on the newer versions, but these should not normally be necessary with a well designed and manufactured
