I am trying to fix my BM6500 and have been looking at the Service Manual. On page 1-7 it states (not quite word for word) " To replace the battery use only batteries of make and type mentioned in this Service Manual (see page 4-5)". Sadly that page is not there. Does anyone know the missing details of have the appropriate page? Thanks

I am looking to buy these from Farnell - but there are some 198 potentiometers ! Do you have any more details of what I should be looking for beyond good quality 100 Ohm? Does anyone know if this older set has a SCART socket that is not compatible with modern products! My parents have used their Beovision 7802 for many years. They now have a Panasonic EZ47 DVD video and freeview unit (all in one) that will not work with the existing scart socket. It sppears t ooverload the signal and looks as though the vertical hold

Alternatively buy a 5 pin and 7 pin connector and make one up. That way you can choose male / female ends, length etc Brian

Anyone any ideas as to why my BM 5500 will automatically shut off as soon as I turn the volume level up to 28..... It does not matter what input - radio, aux, CD but it just switches off as soon as the volume level reaches 28! ANY opinions welcomed!!! B

Studying the MCP 6500 and 5500 I have in front of me there are 4 differences (well 5 if you include the 6 v 5 number on the front) Black v Grey-green background Shiny v Matt aluminimum finish Stronger and longer hinges v short ones Shiny magnet v black magnet There does not appear to be any difference in the screen covers - but I am not taking them

There is always the possibility of a foam repair if required. Rather than replace the entire driver a pair of foam rings can do the trick (often to be found on ebay). My PC is connected to a BM5500 with a pair of CX50s and a Cona sub woofer - excellent sound.
