I agree with Alex. For running amplified signals, sometimes wire thickness matters, and some types of wires need shielding, but past that there's really no difference. Just because there is a debate about something doesn't mean we're not sure about the answer. Cable burn in doesn't make a difference.

beocool: It looks like the display from a Beolink 7000 that's been mounted in a Penta speaker. Nice job. Ah, this sounds more likely than my idea. Details Stig, details!

I don't remember Ridax selling a red version, but his module could work with various LED modules. One of the advantages of the Penta 3 is that the display circuit outputs a serial data line to a universal LED module. By universal I mean if you were to somehow turn on all the segments of a Penta 3 display, you'd just see a big grid of little

Awesome Graham, thanks! As I'm only 22, and wasn't conscious yet when many of the older products were new, I only get to see them now as older pieces, and I try to imagine what it would have been like to see them new and in a store.

tournedos: I miss the days I could solder PLCC cased processors and read the markings on 0805-format SMD resistors without a magnifying glass -mika Haha tournedos, that reminded me of one time when I was working at my lab. One of the guys needed me to set aside a couple different strips of 805 resistors. When I handed the strips to him he was with some

Edit: Just realized you're in my time zone, so you can buy my white cx100's! They sound awesome when driven by a good amp, but thay alone won't satisfy your need for bass if thats what you're looking for. Yes, self advertising at its finest. Or Sell the bl6000's and with the money get a nice set of pentas Or if you really want to

Keith, I'll be picking up my Penta 3's on Friday. After that I'm going to start a long thread on modifications, which will encompass many of the mods that have been mentioned on this site, along with some new ones. I'll include pictures, and since it'll be in english, you may want to just wait till then. I don't know what suppliers

Hey Andy, I know how you feel. Just remember not to use the iron to melt the solder and then put the wet solder onto cold metal. This is called a cold solder joint. The solder doesn't get chemically bonded to the metal when this happens, so it won't conduct well and is likely to break apart. When you're soldering the end of a bare wire to
