  • Re: Beosound 5 specs

Worked why the BS5 has been delayed:- " It has (not) been established that the design of the main control interface on the Beosound 5 had a fatal flaw. Therefore, in view of the continuing high standard of product development and consumer expectation, Bang and Olufsen have been compelled to recall between zero and 20 million post-production units

  • Re: BEOSOUND 5 - LAUNCH

My collective thoughts on the BS5.... I've sort of been thinking about this product from quite a few months back up to today. This sums up my opinion prior to seeing the real deal in December - which will be the earliest I will get to see it. 1. The form. Nothing dramatic just typical B&O. It could have been lots of shapes or forms that would

  • Re: Embedded Windows XP in Beosound 5????

mor: Does anyone know why B&O did not make use of a touch screen?? I'll tell you why......having recently bought my childhood dream machine of a mint Beocenter 9500 and a Beo5. FINGERPRINTS! That's why. BC9xxx, BL7000, Beo5......all look great, all have great interfaces, all look really sexy but they always get smudged to kingdom come with

  • Re: Terrible Beosound 5 site?

They have a launch date. We are not there yet. They are spreading out the anticipation until then. I am sure that on the launch day, the site will show the product off nicely. 10%

  • Re: Are you 100% happy with your B&O setup?

I'm 100% happy with my setup. BV7-40 - have two early 2005 HD Ready models. We can't all keep up with the latest technology with a new TV every other week. However, with DVD, it's pretty solid and will last a few more years. Upgraded with the Freeview STB card. Wish I had not bothered as most programmes are rubbish anyway. Still looks brand

  • Re: Two or three speakers when watching ordinary TV

Why dont you simply let the BV7 make all the decisions? Set the audio sound option to 2.0 - which will play via the BL9's Set the video sound option to 3.0 - which will play via the BL7.4 and BL9's. Then as the signal changes depending on the quality (news/mono, movie/stereo, DVD/Dolby3), the BV7 will automatically adjust. Nothing will be lost

  • Re: Beolab 5 - Breaking-in of drivers?

I would sum the cost of the loudspeakers, and the amps required to drive them hard and clean. That's the competition for the BL5 and I suspect it can punch well-above its pay-grade 10%

  • Re: Beolab 5 - Breaking-in of drivers?

I've sort of sat back and watched this thread evolve til now.. Just to interject my personal thoughts: I have had my BL5's since 2004 and to this day I am still in awe of them. It has been one of the best B&O investments I have made and I cant see the day that I would sell if I had a choice. To me, the music from the BL5's is melted
