stefan: No, backlight is activated by a little sensor inside the Beo4. You can hear it if you shake the remote. What does the CINEMA button control? I am assuming it just activates the back light, am I correct? Jonnie

Thanks Peter. Yes I know what you mean, I have had it given thats the reason I asked. I worked it out after I posted that the commands go through the TV. Thanks Jonnie
