I've never come across one unit which is incompatible with another. Heck, I've used my CD6500 with my BeoMaster 900, and there's nothing stopping me using a BeoSound 5 with a BeoLit 600. There's a strong likelihood the iPod dock will contain a corrective EQ curve for the built in speakers. Unless you can bypass this (which you may well not be able to as all the electronics will almost certainly all be on a single IC), you'll end up with an equally hideous sound from the MC35s...

Big fan of the 4400! I have a boxed one (complete with original price tag, instructions, included U70 promotional leaflet & service manual), and it would be stunning if it was working When it was working though, god did it sound impressive!

Which BeoSystem processor were you using? What was the source? Are you taking into account sound quality, which is significantly better with the BeoVision 4? If you're finding a 28" Avant plenty big enough, then you were probably sitting far too close to the 50", and hence the picture will have seemed poor.

What option is the BeoSound 3000 set to? You won't get any sound if both are set to master options (ie, 1 or 2). What is in the rest of the link system?

I haven't renewed my subscription either and have lost my 'f', although the 'f' isn't something I'm worried about. I'm saving for university at present, and will renew my subscription when I'm financially a little more aware of what I can and can't be spending money on.
