You will have done no damage at all. I tend to set the tracking weight by ear - most B&O cartridges actually need a little more weight these days. You will do more damage with a mistracking cartridge than one with a few tenths of a gramme more. The brush that comes with an electric razor makes a reasonable stylus brush. I tend to clean the stylus

The two line ones I know are the Beocom 3 (not available new now and I am not convinced it works in the UK due to differing voltage in the connections) and the Beocom 1 which is a US version of the Beocom 6000. I don't see why you can't do that - Aux out on the BS9000 to Tape 2 on the 5500.

I know what you want - a wire into the back of the BM5500 from the BS9000 and be able to control the BS9000 via the 5500. Unfortunately I don't think this is possible. Much easier to just put a Beolink box in the office - be it active or passive.

You will be able to use other speakers and possibly power amplifiers if you want but you will need at least a B&O master unit - it also depends on which flavour of Beolink you have. What do the Infra Red receivers look like?
