keith, sorry for delay in response, just back to the forum yesterday after a few weeks off -death in family... at any rate... thx for the niles link! i have the "other" niles piece -and it is well put together -so this may well be the answer. i am also a crutchfield patron -so that is convenient. i just wish i could run more than 2 sources

atv -absolutley! i was going to buy a new touch and connector, but rather went with an extreme n and the atv. -roughly spending the equivalent $ and the result is miles ahead -very happy! just think of the atv as a static ipod w/ better abilities (geared to a/v)... highly recommended!

relative to costs: my harmony 880 retails for ~$299 in the states. i got mine NIB for $109 on ebay... the seller had other logitech items and may still be selling them -i'd have to look that up though -and i'd be happy to share if anyone was interested.
