Well it is newer than mine which is serial number 20191**** but if got recently, it should be software 1.40a and as Keith says, the newer ones have upgraded hardware. When did you buy it?

Dealers in the UK will certainly entertain trade ins though the prices given may not be as good as you could get on the open market.B&O resellers will also buy equipment - again prices paid will reflect the need to make a profit on the deal.

Dead easy - loosen the screw on the cartridge, slide off the old stylus and slip on the new one. Tighten it up and you are there!

The S45 woofer could well be replaced by an S45-2 woofer - though I would replace in pairs - I'll see if I can fiind out if they changed the driver though I don't think they did. However the S45 Type 6427 is not a S45-2 but the later model which is completely different - foam roll and nothiong like as nice. Don't bother with that one.

They don't really talk to the Beoport - they talk to the computer. I use both and they both work fine. You can however only control the computer one at a time - in other words you cannot use each to listen to a different tune in different rooms simultaneously - you only have one copy of iTunes! I have the iTouch in the bedroom and the iPhone with

I just use two pack epoxy glue for the 8002 - clean the black tape residue off carefully first.

Definitely! Some shocking LPs have been made. I did see your original post and was wracking my brains for what might be wrong! I was thinking you might have two RIAAs fitted some how!

Depends what sources you want but an Ouverture with Beolab 4000s when bought second hand will be very good value for money. Compact and powerful.
