Steve, Welcome to Beoworld ! I never repaired any of these but I believe that the cable has a plug, accessible under the lid where the cable enters. Have you tried with a different cable ? You could also try switching ends on the cable so that the end that was in the handset now connects to the table stand and vice versa to see if the problems lies

I agree with Johnbarker. None of us have tried all possible combinations of B&O's, still I don't see the above commenting people as the least experienced bunch of Beoworld'ers, that's for sure. I don't see any of the above comments as hear-say either. Even if you never actually had a given combination, you could be familiar with

As the others already said, the Terminal 6000 will do the common things but also the Beocenter terminal, from Beocenter 7000 and 7002 (not 7007/7700) will also do the basic things. But if you keep looking, you will eventually find the correct Terminal

Probably a burned lamp at the tracking sensor, sitting at the foot of the tonearm carriage. Martin

That will be the 1956 Tapedeck Beocord 511, missing in our product guide I merely relay'ed it to Beoworld. Thanks to Torben for donating this valuable vintage service information. Martin

A quite comprehensive (audiophile) kit is available but let's first see if it's needed. Have you tried switching the left/right channel cables to see if the problem follows the amplifier output or one particular speaker ? Martin EDIT: Sorry, I must be getting old. You told that the humming was audible from the speaker physically. Of course swapping

TR27 is not the reason for the humming. Aging capacitors and the board mounted rectifier are the greatest candidates. Martin

Welcome to Beoworld ! Check that the mains voltage setting switch is set according to your local mains voltage. Still no luck - replace capacitors. A kit is available. Martin
