well, as my mx5000 has datalink... i could see using it to attach the mx to the bs9000, and then the correct ml/mcl converter to attach the bs9000 as the audiomaster for an mcl network. not my original intent, but sounds like it would work.

makes perfect sense, thx! honestly, i have become so absorbed in all this "linking" -sometimes i just get bewildered. at any rate, i see little need to change the downstream layout. the ml/mcl converter will simply allow the bs9000 to replace a bm4500 in a mcl network as i see it. i'll leave the rest alone. thx!

thx all... i assumed that the ml-to-datalink converter (the function of the beolink converter) would enable the bg to be controlled remotely. i assume now that the ml port and this converter are simply for network use and have nothing to do w/ local sources (i.e.) an attached bg etc... so, by plugging the bg in locally -i could expect remote capabilities

hi all, read in the product section about the above item... that it could control up to (4) rooms w/ passives. does that mean that i would have volume control using a mcl2a (which you normally wouldn't) i.e. i was picturing... master --> mcl2av+mcl2p in each passive link room vs. master --> ml/mcl converter+mcl2a in the first passive room

honestly, the bm is new to me. i got it about (2) months ago -still in the bubble wrap. so, i have not been able to chk the sticker on the back. i thought perhaps there may be some cmd's you could throw at it -that might display the current sw rev. the risk as i see it -is that it may have been flashed at some point, but the newer sticker may not
