2D6 is a 2,7V zener. If you have 4,9V across this diode, it's either dead or of a wrong type. Are you sure you mounted a 2,7V zener diode ? 0,1V on pin 39 keeps the processor halted, 4,6V sounds more like the correct voltage here. Good job on the mounting and thanks for the feedback on the tachodisc, greatly appreciated ! Martin

Make sure you have a clean 5V supply. A bit hard to do without a scope but an AC voltmeter should tell you if there is any ripple to disturb the processor. Next, check the zener diode D6, this is where the 2,9 V should be found. R90 should hold 3,5 - 3,6V. The voltage on the processor pin 39 is also interesting since this is the actual CPU reset point

Do you have a type number and serial number on these speakers ? All redline speakers I ever saw had "proper" PCB boards, even the RL35. And the RL60.2 filters I've seen were nothing like the ones you have. Martin

Yes, new trimmers. And do one channel at a time, starting with the bad one to keep the Beomaster from shutting down while adjusting. Furthermore, if only one output stage transistor gets hot, it could be a sign that it's thermic contact to the cooling fin has been compromised. The last couple of BM5000's I've had in for service all showed

Hi Doug, The CD50 was sold a long time ago. Sorry I forgot to delete the thread. All Beogram CD50's have a voltage setting switch at the back for 110/220V so they will work worldwide, also on both 50 and 60Hz mains frequencies. Martin

Hi, Welcome to Beoworld and thanks for signing up as a silver member, your support is greatly appreciated ! There are three adjustment screws with leaf springs for the platter height. I suggest you adjust them and set the platter apprx 1mm above the surrounding aluminum surface. They can be accessed by lifting off the platter. The platter lifts straight

Hi Phil, Welcome to Beoworld ! I can supply the belt but are you sure the belt is the problem ? whar are the symptoms ? Martin

Check the volume wheel opto for dust accumulation etc. Check also the connectors to the front panel. Connectors have started to fail at a drastic rate in these wonderful machines, causing the strangest faults. The solders crack, sometimes even lifting and breaking the PCB tracks, and the header pins shed their coating. Check also the ones between the
