All UPnP servers seem to work. The same for NAS (B&o advises QNap) I use a Netgear ReadyNas. Works fine "Server on": Read the update in the FAQ (BS5 faq - site B&o) carefully. You have to go to the service menu's. This option is normally NOT shown

Hi Stan start BeoConnect and make a connection with the BS5/BM5. go to Finder make a connection with the BM5; if fails then make a connection as BEOMASTER5\BM-USER (note: your system can also be named "BEOMASTER 5"; you should look it up in the BS5) your PASSWORD succes

not suprising. I tried the beoplayer. Would it recocnized a Flac file. It didn't. Until now nothing has been changed on the BeoConnect and the Beoplayer side of things I just used the Windows Explorer or Finder (Mac), I can't remember which one, to copy a Flac file to the BM5. you can play all kind of FLAC on a MacMini using XBMC I have connected the MacMini with HDMI to my BS3 and can even listen to compressed multichannel 96 kHz 24bit Flac files.
