At the end of the day, this site is here to provide a source of information and entertainment for those interested in B&O. It was set up for no other purpose. In my view the purpose has not changed but we have massively expanded the site and offer more information and more entertainment. I still see no other purpose

Help! A few weeks ago I bought a Beogram 1700 as an interim solution until a really good Rosewood 400X turns up (I’m expecting a long wait!). The BG1700 was very carefully packed for transportation after advice from this forum, and my driving style radically adjusted whilst I drove the 100 miles home. For a variety of reasons, I haven’t

I can't see a real downside. Anything that helps build and foster the relationship between the most knowledgable and committed sector of a loyal customer base and the company concerned has got to be good. Rather than looking at the possibilty of B&O in someway 'tainting' the independence of the site, see it as an opportunity for leverage

Michael, I have some sympathy for you. You lose the term 'love affair', and to carry that analogy on I went through a period of being unfaithful to B&O, but ultimately always came back because it has an almost unique combination of aesthetics, sound/vision quality, ergonomics and sheer pleasure to have aroun. It is the only kit I could live

Michael, What have you been doing to them! My Form 2s are at least 10 years old, get used regularly and the foam is still immaculate. I do wash the pads fairly frequently and dry them fully which might help. If you like the sound of the Form 2s, and I assume you do, then 15$ seems not unreasonable to continue to enjoy them. Not sure you could buy better

Just acquired a BG 1700 and a CDX. Anyone have a stylus guard for an MMC cartridge and a pair of transit screws for a CDX they don't need and would be willing to sell? Cleve
You need a Beogram 4000! No B&O collection is complete without one! The 1700 is a good start though!
Yes I know, but this is a very neat example in Rosewood, with a very lightly used MMC 20E and is more acceptable domestically at the moment. I am working on a long term strategy to infect my partner with the

Thanks everyone - the cotton wool/jewellery box idea is obvious now I think about it, but, of course, I didn't think about it! This is my second piece of vintage B&O - now to rediscover the joys of vinyl - I have 5 records! Quite surprised at the number of specialist dealers around the world too. Just bought two DGG Archiv records from Jerusualem

Help, I am about to buy a BG 1700, but it doesn't have the original box. Not sure the best way to transport it by car. Are there any particular problems removing the platter and accessing the transit screws? How do I protect the arm in transit? Not sure if there is a stylus guard so any advice on protecting the stylus? Boot or back seat? I've

Spookily, my first B&O product, and my first B&O memory, was the Beogram 1000 and I used to play the 1950s Glen Gould recording of the Goldberg Variations on it - just like the 'you tube' video - ah happy days. Cleve
