• Re: Problems with fuses on Beomaster 4500

I don't think the shortcut is to blame. You're right there's only one amplifier output per channel - if anything electronic had been fried, you wouldn't have sound from the L2 output either. There's not much else than can be at fault except the relay, the speaker socket, or wiring between them. You should check the solderings of

  • Re: BeoSound 5 Encore with USB CD player: does this work?

This would be a completely different problem on the Encore, which doesn't run on Windows XPE. AFAIK (I read it here somewhere) the Encore is using Linux - it should have no problems recognizing any drive you connect to it on the hardware level, but that won't get you anywhere if you can't access it. You won't be able to run any extra
Why will it help if i clean it, and is it the contact points under the motherboard i shall clean?
No. You need to remove the relay, open it (the clear plastic case comes off some way or another) and clean the contacts inside it!

  • Re: Problems with fuses on Beomaster 4500

There are no fuses to blow in the outputs. You have already pretty much diagnosed that you need a new muting relay (the one that clicks when you operate mute). The 1st speaker outputs are routed through it. Don't bother trying to clean it unless you want to do that regularly in the future, that fix will never last long. This is a common problem

  • Re: on/off lever for beogram 4002

This is the first time I see what is obviously missing on my 6000! (and the 4004 as well, or it doesn't have the switch at all, can't remember.) I just turn the axle with my fingers... It isn't exactly visible, so you could of course salvage a 4 mm(?) knob from any junked gadget.

As long as the posts are on topic and obey the forum guidelines (and hopefully general courtesy as well), it is up to the posters to decide what they wish to post, not for the readers. Skip it if you're not interested - the forum nicely tells everybody how often a thread has been viewed, and uninteresting topics will quickly fall out of view. As
