Always use mark 2 Powerlink cables for Beolab 5 (or for any speakers with displays, eg. Pentas). Whereas the Pentas will work on mark 3 cables without the displays, the 'Lab 5 will do nothing (except show a misleading green light!) You can't normally go wrong with mark 2 cables, I know Lee at LifeStyle AV always stocks these out of preference

Hi Hassan, You have several options:- 1) Do nothing (VERY bad idea, as your speakers will sound terrible and are likely to suffer damage due to lack of air resistance in the cabinet). 2) Ask an expert such as Dillen to re-foam the ABR panels (assuming that you still have the metal panels) 3) Ask your local B&O dealer for a Tuned Port kit (see the

Ah yes, but we didn't ask WHERE in the house the ceiling speakers are going to be placed? This could be an option to give the perfect stereo image when enjoying music whilst lying in a nice comfortable bed? Steve.

OK, maybe I'm just a perfectionist! Beolink Passive is fine for background music, but I just think a conventional hifi amp will usually beat it hands down for serious listening. Best regards, Steve.

Hi, just an extra note to clarify bayerische's suggestion. Yes, this is quite right, if you want to control the volume from the Beo4/5 remote, use a Powerlink to RCA cable to connect the the Yamaha amp. If you prefer to use the Yamaha volume control, use an Aux out to RCA cable to give a fixed line level output. The Digital output is for the CD

Hi everyone, Just a general observation that I've not been able to find new Speakerlink connectors on sale for the last couple of years. I've been happy to re-furbish Speakerlink cables for customers who have provided their existing plugs, but I've had to turn down numerous requests for these cables due to a lack of plugs. Has anyone found

Hi everyone, No promises at this stage, but I'm in the process of trying to get a replacement mid/bass driver made for the CX50/100 that has a rubber cone surround. I've struggled to get the full spec of the original speakers out of anyone at B&O, but I think I have enough data to work with now. It could take a few months before this becomes

Hi Graham, Don't forget option 3! If remote operation in the area of the ceiling speakers is not essential, I would consider ditching the Beolink Passive (not one of B&O's better amps IMHO) and using a Powerlink to RCA cable to power a conventional hifi amplifier. The volume of the ceiling speakers will then follow the main Beosound 9000

Hi, I've never been able to find fault with the Beomaster 8000, I think it's a great amp. The 4500 (and similar 3500) Beomaster amp is fine at lower volumes, but can struggle in larger rooms with low-output speakers. My usual rule of thumb is that if normal listening takes you above 50% of full volume then you need a bigger amp! For me, a 3500

Hi Soundproof, I agree entirely! Digitally encoded signals at low to medium frequencies seem to cope with almost any type of signal path without degradation. HDMI cables just need good connectors to ensure reliable coupling and they should be fine. However, with audio cables, I would argue that's a different matter..... Best regards, Steve.
