  • Re: Whats the best item you ever bought from B&O ?

For me my favourite purchase has been my Beovox S45-2s, bought as a stop-gap until I could afford better B&O speakers I no longer feel any need to replace them. Worst buy was a Beocenter 2000 that ended up in the skip as it was in such terrible condition, but I can't really complain as it came in the same transaction as my S45-2's for a

  • Re: UK to phase out FM radio by 2015

I work at home at least once a week and Classic FM plays constantly on my Beomaster 1900 while I do so. DAB is a good solution for minimising hiss etc. but the ultimate quality isn't there and workable DAB portable solution seems a while away yet. Given the huge number of FM radios out there (tens if not hundreds of millions) I really cannot understand

  • Re: Eureka! Almost. . .

Buying used cartridges is not recommended as even the newest ones will be around 15-20 years old and can be suffering the ravages of time even if they have never been used, they can change hands for silly money too. Simon

  • Re: CX50 refoam - how long to "play in"?

I am in a similar position to you. My attempt to refoam my CX50's resulted in a trip to King Street for a new set of drive units. I also have a pair of CX100's in excellent cosmetic condition but foam rot in all the drivers. I have decided to take the plunge and buy new drivers because I know I lack the skills for refoaming. I know I will not

  • Re: BeoCentre 9500 to Penta 1

I agree about the need to maximise the volume from the iPod. In practice I get better results connecting my iPod to assorted B&O kit when using a powered iPod dock than I do whan using a lead connecting directly to the iPod headphone socket, which has never been satisfactory for me. The dock only cost £20 from Richer Sounds in the UK but it

I see the project to reduce the number of B&O items you own is going well.... Simon

  • Re: B&O website

Beolounge to me is an example of 'look what we can do' web design but seems to have too much focus on the interface at the expense of making information quick and easy to find.. As my interest is mainly in older B&O it has had no effect at all on how often I come here. Like Jandyt I have been there twice, and I am in no rush to return. Simon

Buying a cap kit from Martin is the most straightforward way to do it, especially for technically bewildered people like me! Simon
