• Re: Tonearm ST/P 12" sought

Seems I got fortunate - found an arm. Should be here at the end of next week! The price was steep, but I think it's going to be worth it.

Brilliant thread, excellent work - inspirational. And using white was ingenious.

  • Re: Beogram 3000 Acoustical - anyone on here?

Interesting - as I understand it, there were certain countries where the Thorens TD124 couldn't be offered, due to agreements Thorens had with importers. For these markets, the Acoustical turntable was offered instead. More at Beocentral.

  • Re: Coolest Brands

In studies I've seen, people have indicated that they consider their iPhone/iPod an extension of the platform they're using it with. As there are a large number of PC-users with iPhones or iPods, don't be too surprised that they don't identify these as being from Apple - they consider them an extension of the PC they are using. The study

As Sturrock writes above, it speaks to the strength of the brand, which is titanium grade. And it's a brand that truly deserves to survive as an independent creator of outstanding A/V. BTW - I wonder to what extent the international "B&O turntables craze" is contributing to the coolness factor? I've been told by several in different

  • Re: Beogram Thorens ready to fill my days with music.

How to pack properly for shipment? As I don't have the original packing materials, and will now be trusting this deck to some unknown pairs of hands between me and Classic Audio, this has to be done well. Fortunately the internet is a good guide - both to the good and the bad. First the bad, some horror pic's of bad packing from VinylNirvana

Jandy - even Frede breaks the B&O stacking recommendation in his avatar. It does generate a lot of heat. I left an LP cover on top of it the other evening, covering about half the slats, on the left. I was surprised to find how hot the cover became when I removed if after listening to the record, it was too warm for me to drop the record inside

  • Re: Beogram 3000 - Why?

Frede, do you have any idea how many Beogram 3000 Thorens B&O sold during that year?

  • Re: Beosound 1 discontinued?
I can´t understand why B&O don´t update the BS1. MP3 Cd-Player and SD-Card socket or maybe socket for an Ipod instead of the CD-Player and they could sell much more BS 1 in future!
Too simple. You want a solution where you have to move the music from your iPod to a separate storage disk, and then

A little comment, inspired by the warning sticker. We've discussed how they should be stacked here, but B&O itself is crystal clear. One should place the amplifier on top, in order to secure the best possible ventilation through the slats. It's what's described in the manual, and it's what's stated on the warning sticker. Still
