This is quite an interesting model indeed, a B&O radio, made in Finland and rarely seen! (In my case it's even more interesting; the only Beomaster 900Ks I have seen have both been Helvar made!) Hello. I have just bought myself a nice Beomaster 900K. I have always loved the design and look of this thing and I have heard only good things about it's sound. This is still not quite a Beomaster. In 1960's a finnish radio company Helvar made some corporation with B&O and they made their own versions of B&O products. At least the 900K

Have you connected the iPod directly to the Penta by the Line In socket? Make sure you have the iPod's volume limit set to max (so it gives full output). Otherwise it might be too faint for the Pentas. (The iPod output at max is ABOUT the line level so it might be a bit low even at full level. I have a BC9000 with Pentas and if I connect the iPod

Have you checked the speaker wires? Or tried with speakers disconnected? If any of the speaker wires (or plugs) is shorted the protection circuit will turn the BC off. (I think so, haven't tried / seen but it might work that way)

Just to update: I have now a working BC5500, thanks to Spiros who supplied parts from his decks.

Be warned: the big drive belt under the cassette holder is very tricky to replace in these decks. Anyway if you have repaired any electronical fault in these I recon you have enough patience for this. The other smaller belts near the rear of the deck are easy to replace, I think Dillen (Martin) of this forum will show up here soon and report if he has
