You can switch between Beo4 and Beolink 1000 in the compatibility section of the service menu.
-
The Beomaster 3000 should be able to power two sets of speakers with little problem. Most music will actually use about 2 W with bonly the odd burst to higher levels.
-
I would suggest talking to Steve at Sounds heavenly - Beolabs are expensive and I wouldn't risk them for the sake a few pounds of cable. Essentially you will be adding a large resistance to the cable which will reduce the output to line level so it will work.
-
I didn't know Frede was doing cartridges - but based on the other work he does, I would say he is likely to be at the leading edge.

Mea culpa - only looked at the first picture!
-
No stands - that is a pain! Why do people take them off! There is a whopping great bass reflex port in the base!
-
The entire BV7 family are to be updated to 3D. And fairly soon. The BV4 range will be heavily pruned - due to energy consumption on Stand by and EU regulations All sorts of other goodies coming - some small changes - others are expanding ranges.
-
Well it may have been a cunning plan by Lee to discouage others to buy these so he can add to his evergrowing collection of B&O classics!
-
Soundsmith in the US make replacement cartridges with the approval of B&O. You can buy direct or your dealer can order them. The SMMC4 is the best value and outperforms the original MMC4. The higher rated cartridges are excellent as well but are brighter/more detailed than the originals. I would suggest a new Soundsmith is a better buy than a second

You are doing well - as I said before - very brave! I cheated and got Windows to fix mine and Tim to fine tune it!
