Small addition - the 8000 of course uses the MMC20CL cartridge.

It will be a much sought afrer remote when digital switch over occurs. All older sets (BV5, Avant, many BV7 etc) cannot switch off the analogue receiver so will have an essentially useless button. Will have to look out for one of these myself.

Yes! It wasn't supposed to be secret - my normal log in is misbehaving and until we move server, I am Doctor!! I would have thought the 4401 was a bit of a give away!

You just need a 5 pin DIN to RCA. Readily available. The two extra pins unscrew. There needs to be an extra ground wire from the casing of the DIN plug to the ground on the amplifier. Sounds Heavenly can sell you a flash one!

There are at least two different sizes - the shaft seems to vary in diameter. The pulley itself is prone to cracking - Frede kindly sent me a spare one when my 6000ran into similar problems. If you have a friend with a lathe, I would suggest getting one made as you can use better materials.

It may be set to option 0. With the 4500 in Stand By, on the Beolink 1000 press: SOUND 1 STORE. The Beomaster should flash its red stand by light and it should then work.

All B&O stereo cartridges work on the same principle and all cxan be treated as moving magnet. The output is however slightly lower than an average moving magnet cartridge so you will need to turn the volume up an extra notch compared to the CD player! But I dare say that this will not be a problem! Ortofon use the same system in some of their moving

That looks like a reasonbale buy. Mine was far more expensive and arrived in many bits when I got it thanks to he courier. Went back together OK!

It is a Moving Iron design which of course sounds confusing! Treat it as a Moving Magnet though it does have a very slightly lower output than normal.
