• Re: Avant - Sky - BS7000 -V8000

Has the set up of the Avant changed? Check that the sockets are assigned correctly. Sometimes removing something can upset things!

  • Re: beolounge

They have not invited me!! I used to go on quite a bit but had to change email as my beeb account closed and since then, don't visit that much. The old Courtyard was good but the forum has never really caught fire. Not that friendly and takes ages to get an answer, if at all. It needs to have some B&O input to make it special - that would be

  • Re: Beogram 4004 - Newbie!

Certainly worth trying the cartridges you have. Should be a MMC20EN or if you are lucky, a MMC20CL. If you need a new one, you will need to get a Soundsmith cartridge - no-one else makes one that fits. I use a SMMC20EN in my 4004. I painted it silver to match the arm as they are black normally! Hope everything works - Welcome to Beoworld.

  • Re: "Beophilia"...

The Beolit 7007 is definitely one to pull out - wonderful rich sound. The speakers can give problems and are not easy to source - however Tim Jarman has taught himself how to fix these if you have problems! It is amazing just how similar the C75 and CX100 sound considering just how different they are. Always interested in brochures from the early 60s

  • Re: BeoSystem 2300 and connecting a record player

Graham is, as usual, completely correct. Datalink was not removed until after the Ouverture.
PS. Did you spell 'seen' wrong deliberately?
No - typo!

  • Re: New B&O book for collectors.
Do you mean the dot in between the E and the G? Nick was pleased I mentioned the one on the inside front dustcover. When there is a reprint, it can be rectified. PS. Did you spell 'seen' wrong deliberately?
No. No such thing as an S70. Should be S75. I take it you mean the see can, a well known receptacle

  • Re: Beomaster 8000, Beovox MS 150 Speakers

They are 3cm long from the tip to the base of the head - 1.6cm is threaded, the rest smooth. The threaded part is 0.5cm in diameter with the head being 0.8cm across.

  • Re: Any value in my MMC 4000?

So despite the fact that he is unfamiliar with B&O, he is qualified to say that B&O turntables are not that good! The 4002 was actually converted vt a group of US audiophiles into a top deck in the 80s. Yes, it is expensive but it is also better built than any low or mid end deck available today. He is however quite correct that the deck will
