  • Re: Beomaster 5500 vs. 6500

Not a lot in it - the 6500 has Powerlink sockets, the 5500 has lots of RCA plugs as well as 7 pin DIN. The 6500 will also work with the Beolink 7000 which the 5500 does not on the whole. I have both a 5500 and a 7000 and use the 5500.

  • Re: Beomaster 1600 Old type. Can't get in!

I have found the service manual for this one - it looks as though there are two screws on the front panel at the top. I am out tonight but I will scan the manual tomorrow for you - looks like a good one.

Are you pressing them sequentially? i.e. first Shift, then Text?

  • Re: Beovision 2502 - Scart problem

Press : SHIFT TEXT to access the set up menu. The Scart socket is Aux 2. I don't have one here so I cannot remember the options but obviously don't set it up as a B&O Video tape!

  • Re: MMC 1 wasted on my ears and music

I can relate to this. The later decks do not allow the full potential of the MMC1 to be realised and the MMC4 is pretty good anyway. The Soundsmith SMMC4 is even better than the original so the need for a MMC1 is quite limited. An 8002 in an 8000 system would probably be the best recipient though from my limited experience with an MMC1, I cannot honestly

  • Re: Best ever designed BeoLab fom Bang&Olufsen

Best looking - BL8000s by a country mile - just fantastic. Performance wise, again no competition - the Beolab 5. Don't have either!! Why? The sound of the 8000s is not good enough for the price and I don't listen to enough music properly to justify Beolab 5s. I am coming around slowly though!! My problem is that I would need 4 pairs as they

  • Re: A £100 System?

BM2000 is a great amplifier - also think about the 2200 which is another one which goes for nothing and is one of the best - same electronic design as a 4400 just not as powerful. That and some S45s or P45s would make a great set. Just given away some P45s and a BM3000 for nothing! Not so keen on the 1700 - either sort! The early one - why not just
