I may be missing something but why bother fitting a iPod (hidden) into a B&O system?? If you need a HD "Jukebox" why not just a plain vanilla 2.5" Hard drive filled with music??

My understanding of the change to the 8000's is that there was a slight change to the crossovers (~2003) to improve reliability (and alledgedly improve the bass although most here that have heard both can not tell the difference between the two).

They look peculiar without the base block. I thought the ceiling mount picture I had seen still included the base blocks (although I could have dreamt it).

Yup - not sure they are the same pictures (or even the same installation) but that was the idea. Having seen them again though they seem plainer than I remember - definitely wouldn't do it myself!

I have seen pictures (on the old forum I believe) of 8000's ceiling mounted (upside down)! They were certainly striking although I'm not sure I would do it myself

It'll be dead easy to spot this time of year - it's about 5 mile to the north and it'll be covered in lights!!

If you are the rightful owner of the track you are allowed to copy it to a portable player. Have you tried moving your track from within Mediaplayer or, failing that, Beoplayer?
