A too tight platter belt will pull the platter towards the motor. There will almost always be a little pull like this or the belt will not be tight enough. You could try without a belt installed and see if that's the reason. Won't the front-most leaf spring adjust enough to compensate for the dip ? Is the surface on which the Beogram stands

Beovox S35 can have foam rot. It depends on the woofer surround material which can be either rubber or foam. In my opinion they are some of the best sounding two-way speakers ever. I agree with Andy, the price seems fair. Martin

These are not easy machines to service and nothing related to the arm lowering mech. is easily accessed. I suggest you leave servicing to someone who has been there before. Martin
