Agreed! The picture is not very helpful. The written instructions should be followed to the letter with particular attention paid to setting the wheel/spindle in the correct starting position. Get this wrong and believe me it is possible to get the system working in completely the opposite direction to that intended!!!!

Anyone remember how the serial number (first two digits)/Age of product relationship works? I had it from a post on the old forum but of course it is no longer available.

Highly recommended by me. Sound quality is excellent and the system I have with 4 phones works a treat. SWMBO can even use it now after a little instruction!

Killyp: May sound daft but have you tried unplugging it from the mains? 99% of behavioural issues can be solved by unplugging from the mains for a while (as my parents would testify)... As a parent myself I completely agree

Does it happen with any cd that you put in position 1 or just certain ones. I had this fault once but it was the cd (not original but copy) that was at fault.

To all those people who have their heads stuck in the sand or up their ar** or wherever they have them stuck, the answer is simple. Get a PC like the rest of us! Mine works fine, even under the stairs, from where I am now communicating with all my friends with macs
