Rob, Yes I have an ohm meter. I have the service manual which can be an absolute treasure…. or at times leaving one as befogged as before. Thanks for the input. I will look into this with GREAT interest! Jeff

My Beogram 4000 is now blowing fuses, and always the right fuse. Some of this information is redundant, having been mentioned in a previous thread, but I thought it best to start at the beginning as this appears to be a serious problem… or at least one difficult to diagnose. This Beogram 4000 was purchased (likely used) in Berlin, Germany. The

OK, I have a problem. With everything properly lubed and the arm driveshaft straighten properly, I replaced the blown fuse and the Beogram 4000 sprang to life, the arm went to the play position, started to drop, and then began moving to the right without lifting. Then all went dead. The same fuse blew again, the right side fuse. (The left is unaffected

Derek, Your suggestion worked just like you said. Thanks for such an easy fix. Jeff

Kev, “Oh dear” is about right. Another word came to mind, but that is not for print. I looked for anything obviously amiss and didn’t find anything. So I took the aluminium control panels off and sanded the four contacts on both sides, then bent them slightly to reduce the travel before a connection is made. This should help with the

I was gifted with an ugly but working Beogram 8000 when my own was rendered basically beyond repair by local repair shop that said they knew what they were doing. They didn’t. I replaced my non-working 8000 innards with those from the donor and now I have a working Beogram 8000 once again and a very nice looking one as well. However this “combination”

Martin, I did a quick check of my Beogram 4000 and it does not have the holes for these tiny pads. However my Beogram 4004 has these tiny pads still in place . My Beogram 4002 and Beogram 8000 both have the holes in the dust cover, but no pads. Jeff

Your original question brought up the subject of Brasso ® , a wonderful, if smelly product. I use it myself on all my brass artifacts….but only AFTER cleaning them with copper cleaner first. Saves a LOT of work. However Brasso, with all its virtues is not going to help you with your scratched aluminum. Certainly not much, in any case. You

Derek, Great suggestion , I will try it on Sunday. The bend does not seem to effect the Beogram's performance, but it can't be a good thing. Thank you very much for the pointer! Jeff
